13 unlocked, running cars with the keys inside stolen this month

If you like your car to be warm and defrosted before you get in it, you’ll want to heed this warning from police. 

They said 13 cars have been stolen just this month. All of them were left unlocked and running with the keys inside. 

Many of the victims told police they were heating the cars up before leaving, and only left them unattended for a few minutes. 

Police said this crime increases every year when it gets cold and you should never leave your car unattended and running with the keys inside. 

They suggest locking it and using a spare key to unlock it if you’d like to leave it running.
