LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department on Sunday arrested a 14-year-old boy after police say he stole a $98,000 pickup truck.

Around 7:30 p.m., officers were sent to the area of Northwest 57th and Vale streets on the report of a 2024 GMC Sierra being stolen from a driveway.

According to LPD, the vehicle was equipped with OnStar, so officers worked with the company to find the vehicle near 25th and O streets.

When officers responded and turned on their cruiser lights, the vehicle fled the area, LPD said.

OnStar was able to track the pickup and eventually disable it near 17th and F streets, where the driver ran off on foot, according to LPD. Officers found the suspect at a house near 10th and C streets.

He was lodged in the Youth Services Center on several warrants, along with being referred and lodged on suspicion of theft by receiving $5,000 or more and operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.
