1,700 lose electricity after tree falls onto power line in south Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Some Lincoln residents lost power Monday evening.
The outage affected about 1,700 customers, according to the Lincoln Electric System.
It was reported about 5:45 p.m. and is centered near 27th Street and Nebraska Parkway.
A Channel 8 reporter there saw a tree that had fallen onto a power line.
A light at the intersection went out, so police were directing traffic.
By 6:20 p.m., one a couple hundred customers remained without power, according to LES.
Wind speeds in the area topped 30 mph on Monday.
