$175 million to improve Nebraska’s tourism attractions
Split into two bills
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- Attracting tourists to Nebraska has often been difficult. One senator is hoping money from the American Rescue Plan Act can improve some of our attractions.
With the combination of 2 bills, Senator Justin Wayne is asking for $175 million. $75 million would go to building a museum in honor of Chief Standing Bear. The other $100 million would not go to creating some kind of amusement park, but rather enhancing the natural beauty Nebraska already has.
“Just more things in recreation and bringing people out. I think Standing Bear museum to more campgrounds, more campsites. We have out by Valentine some of the darkest areas out by Murrow reservoir, that you can go out and see millions of stars. There are just things we have to do to have more attractions,” said Senator Justin Wayne.
He hopes that adding more options for camping, fishing, hunting, and hiking trails, will attract more people to come to experience Nebraska’s natural beauty. These projects would be spread across the state.
