18-year-old accused of dumping knife used in Lincoln slaying

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An 18-year-old was arrested Wednesday in connection with a deadly stabbing.
Guy Alkafaji of Lincoln is charged with being an accessory to a felony in the death of 16-year-old Xavian Sawyer.

On May 18, 14-year-old Stephen D’Amore stabbed Sawyer twice in the chest during a fight near 64th and Adams streets.
A large group of youths were at the scene when officers arrived, according to an arrest affidavit.
Sawyer was taken to a hospital, where he died about two hours later.

The affidavit says police say D’Amore gave Alkafaji a knife that was 6 to 8 inches long and covered in blood.
Alkafaji discarded the knife about a block away, according to police.
