Lincoln Exposed festival has 100-plus bands spanning multiple genres
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The 19th annual Lincoln Exposed music festival started Wednesday at four downtown venues.
The four-day festival will feature over 100 local acts at the Bourbon Theatre, 1867 Bar, Duffy’s Tavern and Zoo Bar.
Pete Watters, owner of the Zoo Bar, said since the sets are pretty short, you can catch a lot of music in one night.
“It just demonstrates how much talent there is in this town,” he said. “I’ve been in this for a long time, and I always see bands I’ve never seen before that just wow me.”
Members of two bands performing at the festival, Head Change and Neon Zoo, stopped by Channel 8 to discuss the event.
“Seeing all the different local music Lincoln has to offer and the different genres and all the different people that come out to see music they’ve never seen locally before, so it’s a good time,” said Evan Kobler, a member of both bands.
Performances began at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Zoo Bar. A full festival lineup can be found on Facebook.
Saving Fiona, which was the first band to perform, said anything that lifts up local music is great.
“There’s a lot of variety of music, and it’s a lot of fun,” band member Madeline Schmitt said. “You’ll probably find something you didn’t know existed before.”
