2 injured after Lincoln house fire

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire and Rescue said two people were sent to a local hospital after a fire broke out in a home near 12th and ‘F’ Street Sunday morning.
“We had the initial call, LPD was on location, and they reported we had at least one party trapped,” Curt Faust, acting Battalion Chief said. “There was smoke and flames coming from the building.”
The male victim was carried out of the home by LFR and transported to a local hospital, along with one other patient. Injuries are unknown at this time.
Officials said the fire started around 9:45 a.m. in the basement of the home from a cigarette on a mattress.
The total loss from the fire is around $20,000, according to Faust.
