20 year old arrested for DUI after crashing truck
20-year-old Chandler Witt was taken to detox and cited for a D.U.I, among other charges, after crashing his truck and leaving the scene early Tuesday morning.
Police said Witt lost control of his 2008 white Dodge Ram and hit landscaping in front of a construction building near 18th and Y street.
A witness called police and when officers arrived, Witt wasn’t there. He later showed up in a friend’s vehicle. He told police he left after the crash to call a tow truck.
Officer Angela Sands said the officer notice Witt showed signs of alcohol impairment. His blood alcohol content tested at .161, twice the legal limit.
Witt was taken to detox at The Bridge Behavioral Health and cited for driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and minor in possession.
