2018 Ruck March heads toward Iowa City ahead of Nebraska-Iowa game

At Memorial Stadium Wednesday morning, military veterans started their march towards Iowa City, part the third annual Ruck March to raise awareness for military suicide.
It’s a cause very personal to the veterans in the march.
“This event is pretty heavy on my heart just because I’ve lost a lot of friends, enough to count on two hands to suicide,” Jacob Post, a 4- year U.S. Marine veteran said.
The veterans are carrying backpacks weighing 20 pounds to represent the 20 veterans who die by suicide every day.
They’re also carrying a football that will be used in the Iowa-Nebraska game.
Nebraska Athletic Director Bill Moos gave the group a speech and the game ball before they began their march.
They are marching across eastern Nebraska, through Iowa, all the way to Iowa City, in time for the game against the Iowa Hawkeyes on November 23rd.
