History with Hops — Thursday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Enjoy a night out exploring historic Union Station and learning about Omaha’s history, with a cold drink in hand. History with Hops gives guests age 21+ a chance to visit the museum after hours! The evening includes: guided tours of the Suzanne and Walter Scott Great Hall, pop-up curator stations featuring rarely seen artifacts from the museum’s collection and The Durham Museum’s permanent and traveling exhibits. $25 / person.

Join the free fun for this live event in a new location. Celebrating its 48th anniversary as one of Omaha’s most treasured traditions, the Festival will bring its Artists’ Market, music, youth arts and more to Aksarben Village.

Music at Miller Park — Saturday

Welcome back to another summer of Music at Miller Park! This free community-sponsored outdoor summer concert series kicks off with Enjoli & Timeless. All concerts are free, and no ticket is required. Bring blankets, chairs, sunscreen, bug spray, food, drinks including beer and wine** and leashed pets. (**No hard liquor)

Bellevue Rocks! Riverfront Festival — Thursday to Saturday

Kick off summer with three days of fun including live music, carnival rides, fireworks on Saturday night, and lots more. Admission is free.

Don’t Stop Me Now! — Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.

Don’t Stop Me Now! celebrates the most popular and acclaimed rock musicals of all time. It is an energetic concert featuring favorites from musicals like “Jersey Boys,” “Mamma Mia!,” “Hair,” “Rent” and more!

“Day by Day” Part 1 showing — Friday to July 29, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

From 1993 to 199,7 the Nebraska Cornhuskers football program would have one of the most dominant eras in college football history, but it was plagued with controversy, injuries, and tragedy. What was more amazing than the three national titles in four years was how they did it. This limited local run showcasing Part 1 of the “Day By Day” documentary series is only showing at the all new Granary Green! Part 2 is coming in the fall. Tickets available online.

Omaha Potter Faire — Saturday to Sunday

The Omaha Potter Faire is here! What you can expect: Butterbeer; vendors offering wands, stuffed owls, and so much more; delicious food served by the Bellevue Berry Farm; costumed characters roaming the Faire and teaching classes; children’s activities including licensed Harry Potter coloring pages; giant bubbles; board games; and more. It’s hosted by the Pirates of the Black Flag. Enter the costume contests for both children and adults! Tickets from $12 to $30

LINCOLN:

Veterans Memorial Garden Brick Dedication — Saturday, 10:30 a.m.

The Parks and Recreation Department invites the public to the Bricks of Honor dedication event at 10:30 a.m. The program recognizes veterans whose family and friends have purchased a dedication brick over the past two years for Veterans Memorial Garden. It also commemorates the founding of the Veterans Memorial Garden.

GREENWOOD / ASHLAND:

Ashland Neighborhood Garage Sale — Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

With four separate locations, you’re sure to find whatever you’re looking for, and some things you didn’t know you needed!  Children’s clothes, furniture, home decor, and jewelry are just a few of the items you’ll come across while talking shop with the people living in town.

Picnic in the Park — Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Pack up a lunch, grab the family, and head to Greenwood Park for a community Picnic in the Park.  Enjoy the lovely weather and chat with the local community members about what makes Greenwood great!

ELMWOOD / MURDOCK:

Elmwood & Murdock Garage Sale — Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m.  to 3 p.m.

Elmwood and Murdock are hosting their own local garage sale, and Fairweather Finds in Elmwood is also participating. You’ll find some treasures buried in the 5 different locations.

Build The Playground! — Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Elmwood and Murdock are looking for volunteers to help build the playground at Murdock Park.  If you aren’t physically able to help with the build, think about donating some refreshments, as the volunteers will be hard at work giving the children of the community somewhere nice to spend the summer.

NORTH PLATTE:

Beer Tasting and Painting — Thursday, 6:30 p.m.

Paint with Peg Leg Beer while you taste its array of brews.  That’s right, use the beer as paint to create your newest masterpiece!

Community Fishing Night — Friday, 6 p.m.

Sponsored by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, events will be held at venues across the state. Look for the Family Fishing Trailer, where loaner rods and reels, bait and fishing instruction are available free to participants. This is the perfect opportunity for people of all ages who have never been fishing or haven’t fished for years to learn. All participants ages 16 and older need a fishing license. HASTINGS:

Hastings YMCA SummerFest — Saturday, 4 p.m.

Hastings Family YMCA is hosting SummerFest! This event is open for the entire community and all ages. Bring your family, friends, co-workers and out of town guests, and get ready to experience a fun day in Hastings.  The festival will include unique activities such as zip lining, bungee trampolines, rock walls, ropes courses, vendors, food, and more!

VALENTINE: 

Heart City Cattle Battle — Friday, noon to 7 p.m., Saturday, starts at 8 a.m.

The second annual Heart City Cattle Battle will be at the Cherry County Fairgrounds on June 10 and 11. We will start Friday with check-in and then a fitting clinic then showmanship that evening followed by a beer garden and a Dance. On Saturday we will have market steers, market heifers, and breeding heifer shows.  $2,000 added money and a lot of great prizes!

ALLIANCE:

Pride in the Park — Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We are back with our 3rd annual pride event in the park. We will have vendors, amazing food, beautiful Queens, music and more! Family friendly of course so bring everyone.

Funky Finds Flea Market — Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Come look and see what you can find this week at the Funky Finds Flea Market.  Challenge a friend to find the craziest thing there, chat with the locals, or just make a stop on the way to the Nebraska Staple, Carhenge.

SCOTTSBLUFF:

Bands on Broadway — Thursday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Join the Scottsbluff community for a free concert in the park!  Pack some snacks and a cooler, grab some lawn chairs, and enjoy the beautiful weather while listening to some great tunes.  There’s no better way to prepare for the weekend than an outdoor concert.  Occurs every Thursday evening.  Free admission.
