28-year-old man dies after two-vehicle crash in eastern Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash north of York.

In a press release on Friday, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to County Road N and 125 Boulevard near Stromsburg just before 5 p.m.

According to officials, a 2012 Ram pickup collided with a 1983 Chevy S-10 pickup driven by 28-year-old Elijah Greene.

Both Greene and the 73-year-old man driving the pickup were taken to Annie Jeffrey Hospital in Osceola, where Greene was later pronounced dead.

The 73-year-old man was treated for minor injuries and released.

The sheriff’s office and the Nebraska State Patrol are investigating the crash.

Stromsburg is about 20 miles north of York.

Greene is survived by his wife, a 2-year-old daughter and an unborn son.

His family has put together a GoFundMe page.
