$3,000 in quarters stolen from northeast Lincoln home, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are searching for the thieves who stole a person’s vacation fund from a northeast Lincoln home last week.
The burglary was reported on June 12, when the victim returned to his home near 70th and Stanton streets and noticed his back door was open.
Police said $200 worth of cash was missing from his dresser, along with $3,000 in quarters, which were being saved to pay for a vacation.
A security camera captured two people in a gray Scion TC pulling into an alley behind the home.
The person in the hood entered the home and deactivated the security cameras, while the other person waited in the car with a dog.
Police are also searching for a duo who broke into eight different units at a storage facility near 53rd and Cornhusker Highway on May 26.
Two people arrived at the storage facility in a silver Chrysler 300 with no plates around 6 p.m.
Security cameras showed them using bolt cutters to cut the locks on eight storage units. Police said nothing has been reported missing.
Investigators are unsure what they were looking for.
