32-acre controlled burn planned at Lincoln park

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled a controlled burn at Pioneers Park on Friday.
Parks and Recreation staff will burn 32 acres just south of the Chet Ager Building from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Officials are telling people to avoid the area during the project.
The limestone trail along the south edge of the nature center, including the suspension foot bridge, will be closed until noon Saturday.
The metal bridge across Haines Branch will also be closed during that time.
The burn could be rescheduled depending on weather conditions.
