LINCOLN, Neb. — Sunday night, around four o’clock, Lincoln Police were called to the Walgreen’s at 1701 South St. on a report of a disturbance.

Once on scene, they witnessed an individual, later identified as 31-year-old Ray Burns, causing a commotion at the pharmacy counter. At one point, Burns even jumped over the pharmacy counter, this is when police began to place him in custody.

Burns resisted arrest by ripping his arms away from the officers and hitting one in the head. The injury caused two lacerations that required four staples, in total, to close. The other officer suffered abrasions, bruising, and swelling of his right arm.

Eventually, police were able to take Burns, who was uninjured, into custody. He was cited for two counts of 3rd Degree Assault on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest.
