Colder Temperatures Following Weekend Snow
Dry air from the north kept most of the heavy snowfall from this weekend to the south near the Kansas border. However, Lincoln did receive its first measurable snowfall since January of 2024, finally bringing our snowless streak to an end at a record-breaking 352 days.
Falls City would take the title for most snowfall in the state, with snow totals sharply declining to the north.
We’ll see a cold start to the work week here in Lincoln, with morning wind chills well below zero and high temperatures barely reaching the 20s on Monday.
High temperatures across the southeastern portion of the state will be in the upper teens, with a few spots creeping into the lower 20s.
Low temperatures tonight will fall into the single digits and potentially below zero for a few spots near the Kansas/Nebraska border.
Cold, dry air from the north will be the highlight of our extended forecast. Temperatures will remain in the 20s for the first half of this week and will jump into the lower 30s by Thursday. No expected precipitation in our extended forecast, with high temperatures remaining in the upper 20s and lower 30s into the start of next week.
