4-star 2027 quarterback Trae Taylor commits to Nebraska over LSU, Illinois

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Highly touted 2027 quarterback Trae Taylor committed to Nebraska on Thursday.

Taylor made his commitment on a YouTube livestream, choosing Nebraska over LSU, Illinois and Texas A&M.

According to On3, the 4-star signal caller is ranked 40th nationally overall and second in the state of Illinois.

The Mundelein, Illinois, native threw for 3,061 yards with 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions as a sophomore at Carmel Catholic High School.

Taylor is the first commitment in the class of 2027 for coach Matt Rhule and the Huskers.

If Dylan Raiola departs for the NFL by then, Taylor will battle for the starting job in Lincoln with redshirt freshman Marcos Davila, freshman TJ Lateef and 2026 prospect Dayton Raiola.
