401 pounds of marijuana found in west Lincoln traffic stop, deputy says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A San Francisco man is accused of traveling through Nebraska with more than 400 pounds of marijuana.

Around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, a deputy pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 80 in west Lincoln for traffic violations, Lancaster County Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said.

During the traffic stop, the driver – 43-year-old Thavysack Thammavongsa – admitted to having a weed pen.

Deputies searched the vehicle and found 401 pounds of marijuana, which is worth around $750,000, Houchin said.

Thammavongsa is being charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
