41 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Douglas County
Two were community acquired and ten had contact with a known case, while the rest of the cases remain under investigation.

The need for social distancing has become even more important for everyone as some changes are taking place regarding Directed Health Measures. As those changes are introduced, it will be essential that people continue to maintain six feet of separation between other individuals.
“Everyone has a role to play if we are to stop the spread of this disease,” Health Director Dr. Adi Pour said. “We are also encouraging everyone to wear a mask when you go out in public. Every bit you can do helps.”
On Sunday, April 26, the Health Department confirmed 41 new cases of COVID-19 in Douglas County. That brings the total number of cases in the county to 440 since the start of the outbreak. There are 16 males and 23 females in these new test results with two more cases to be identified during interviews. They range from 1 to 73 years of age. Two were community acquired and ten had contact with a known case, while the rest of the cases remain under investigation.
As of Saturday night, local hospitals reported 549 medical surge beds were available and 48 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the 348 ventilators available to area hospitals, 95 were in use, including 17 for confirmed COVID-19 patients. Sixty-seven individuals are
confirmed to have recovered from their illness.
