41-year-old inmate dies at Lancaster County Jail

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A 41-year-old inmate died Sunday at the Lancaster County Jail.

Lancaster County officials said Dale Kesselring was found unresponsive in a cell.  Staff tried to save his life before paramedics arrived.

Kesselring had been incarcerated since Sept. 22.

He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault after police said he hit his roommate with a metal bat.

A grand jury will investigate Kesselring’s death, as required by Nebraska law.
