On an cold and early Sunday morning more than 500 Lincolnites showed up to participate in the 42nd annual Buffalo Run.

The Buffalo Run is the longest running road race in Lincoln, and out of the thousands of people who have ever competed, only two runners have made it every year.

"The first one was exciting it was a new think in Lincoln to have these road runs that just anyone can do that care to train and then the next year I did it and the next year and pretty soon I had a sting and I couldn’t give up on the string," says Mary Wolfe who along with Tom Becker have made it to every buffalo run,

They both say that doing for 42 years has it’s ups and downs.

"Same Course. Obviously the people have changed to who’s been here running the race so there’s been some really humid days and there have been some nice cool mornings," added Becker.

Then for other runners like Nate and Chance, the opportunity to get out together is what this race is all about.

"Started probably 2 years ago and this year we really got into running a 5k," said Nate Rohda

"We decided to try 5 miles I heard about the Buffalo Run and thought it would be fun," added Chance Rohda.

The Buffalo Run is every year the Sunday after Labor day, so if you want to sign up for next year’s race you can mark your calendar for 2019.
