5-year-old dies after being left in vehicle in Omaha

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A child died in Omaha on Wednesday after being left in a vehicle for hours, police say.

The Omaha Police Department responded to 93rd and Binney streets just after 5 p.m., KMTV reported.

Police said a 5-year-old boy who was in foster care had been left in an SUV there.

CPR was performed before the boy was taken to the Omaha children’s hospital, where he died.

An autopsy will determine the cause of death, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
