Man who drove off bridge into north Lincoln creek is identified
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police have identified the man who was killed Saturday when he drove off a bridge into Oak Creek.
Around 7 p.m., 54-year-old Chad Bright turned from Saunders Avenue onto 11th Street and drove onto the median.
Bright then struck a sign before driving off the bridge into Oak Creek, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are not sure if alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash, which caused the road between Saunders Avenue and Sun Valley Boulevard to be closed for several hours.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue spokeswoman Nancy Crist said it was a “difficult rescue” due to hazardous materials in the water.
