56th Street reopened after vehicle crashed into southeast Lincoln power pole

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A part of 56th Street in Lincoln that was shut down due to a crash Wednesday has been reopened.

Around 11:30 a.m., a vehicle landed on its roof after striking a power pole at 56th and Spruce streets.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Lincoln Police Sgt. Tyler Cooper said the collision knocked out power north of the intersection.

Southbound 56th Street from Pioneers Boulevard to Spruce Street was shut down for several hours as Lincoln Electric System crews worked to restore power in the area.

Around 8 a.m., Thursday, the road was reopened, police said.  LES has not yet said if power has been restored.
