70-year-old Lincoln man seriously injured in hit-and-run crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning in downtown Lincoln.

Just before 1 a.m., an officer on patrol heard a “loud” collision at 18th and K streets, according to police.

The officer arrived at the scene and found that two vehicles had crashed.

Police said the driver of a Nissan Versa, a 70-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with suspected serious injuries to his head and spine.

The driver of the other vehicle, a Volkswagen Passat, ran away after the crash.  They have not been taken into custody.
