73-year-old man rescued after crashing into tree in rural northeast Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was hospitalized Tuesday after crashing into a tree in rural northeast Nebraska.
The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 11:45 a.m. on 566th Avenue, just north of Stanton.
A vehicle – driven by a 73-year-old Norfolk man – left the road, entered a steep ditch and hit a tree, the sheriff’s office said.
Crews worked for 30 minutes to safely rescue the driver from the vehicle, which was sitting at a “precarious angle,” according to the sheriff’s office.
He was then taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The man was later cited for not having a valid driver’s license.
