80-year-old pilot injured in Nebraska plane crash
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A pilot was injured Thursday in a small plane crash in eastern Nebraska.
The plane went down about 5 p.m. near 126th Street and West Giles Road in La Vista, according to the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders found the plane in a tree line.
The 80-year-old male pilot — the only occupant — was taken to a hospital with injuries that were note life-threatening.
He told authorities that the plane was having mechanical problems before losing altitude.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
