81-year-old injured in crash with semi on rural northeast Nebraska highway

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Hoskins man was injured Monday in a crash with a semi in Stanton County, the sheriff’s office says.

The crash happened around 10:35 a.m. on Highway 35, just south of Hoskins.

A pickup truck, driven by an 81-year-old man, crossed the center line and struck a semi “nearly head-on,” the sheriff’s office said.

The man suffered a medical episode before the crash.  He was taken to a local hospital with head injuries.

The sheriff’s office said seatbelts were not in use.

The crash closed a part of the highway for about one hour.
