90s to stay for now; Relief from heat not far away
The 90s have had a firm grip on the area in recent days, and Mother Nature is tightening that grip for now. We expect another day with mostly sunny skies and humid conditions. Highs should reach the lower-90s for many, near 92° in Lincoln.
There will be some smoke moving through the upper levels of the atmosphere, which could give the sky more of a hazy appearance on Wednesday. This could also make for a pretty sunset.
For Wednesday night, we expect clear skies with low temperatures in the low to mid-60s. Overall, it’s another quiet night.
We’ll keep the warm air around through about Friday. By then, a cold front will approach which brings cooler temperatures over the weekend. We’re talking about the potential for 70° highs on Saturday and Sunday. There could also be some scattered storms late Friday and into Saturday along this front.
