911 Tapes Reveal Details About Omaha Couple Who Died In Snow Storm

The last hours of Janelle Hornickel and her boyfriend Michael Wamsley were detailed in 911 tapes released Friday morning. The couple disappeared in the early hours of Wednesday, January 5th, when they left their truck during a snow storm. The first calls came in just after midnight, the last shortly before 5 a.m. During the series of calls, dispatchers were unable to locate the couple, who were calling from a cell phone in rural Sarpy County. The couple was unable to describe where they were, at times claiming they were near their apartment in Omaha. Authorities say autopsy reports indicate both had meth in their systems and may have been hallucinating, at times, the couple reporting they were being chased and that there were 200 people surrounding them that could not speak English. The body of Michael Wamsley was found the next day, Janelle's body was found the following Tuesday.

Investigators have traced the meth back to a mother and son from the Kearney area. They have been arrested on several drug charges.
