Star City Shores opens with brand new water slides

Ready to kick off your summer, then grab the whole family and head on over to Star City Shores for some fun. This year they’re celebrating their 20th anniversary. Something to look forward to this year are some brand new water slides.

Sarah Kam’s four-year-old daughter was one of the lucky winners of a contest, she won a pass to be among the first to go down the new slides. Kam says she remembers the old slides, but says the new ones are bigger and better.

"They were good when they were first put in, but they were really starting to get old and faded. It’s really nice to see that they put in brand new structures. It looks good, and up to date, and safe," Sarah Kam said.

Kam says she plans to visit the water park every weekend throughout the season.

Younger kids will get to enjoy a revamped play area that features a bucket that dumps water on guests. One of the new slides is similar to the original with multiple loops and a gradual slope, while the other is enclosed with a large vertical drop, that adds speed to the adventure.

"Luckily they’re not as fast for me which is really a really good thing because I freak out easy, like in the tube one, I couldn’t do it," Gabrielle Dalton said.

Star City Shores will be celebrating in style with specials during the 20th of each month. Staff members say there looking forward to seeing you.

"We’re just looking forward to this summer. We got a great staff, great fun, and it’s a whole new pool. If you’ve been here before, come again," Jace Ahlberg said.
