UPDATE: Police catch Dunkin’ Donuts shooter

UPDATE: Lincoln Police arrested 19-year-old Kyle Kemnitz for shooting 10 times at at a local Dunkin Donuts. It happened February 21, and the next day  Southeast Community College across the street reported almost 100 shots fired into their LED sign out front. The total damage to the sign was $25,000-$40,000.

Police say video surveillance from the college and a crimestoppers tip helped them pin Kemnitz down; they found him this Sunday morning around 1 AM during a routine traffic stop. The two rifles used where in the back of his truck and at his home, respectively. Kemnitz has been arrested for discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling, criminal mischief, and two counts of using a weapon to commit a felony.

Lincoln Police reported shots fired around 3:30 AM at Dunkin’ Donuts on 84th and 0 Streets.

Police say employees inside at the time reported hearing what sounded like something falling in the front room. When they checked they found bullet holes; Lincoln Police say two windows and some siding sustained gunshots, amounting to 10 shots total.

No one was injured, and there are no suspects in the case at this time. Police are still investigating.
