Lincoln Police heard gunshots in the area of 16th and D just before midnight Saturday. They responded to find a vehicle that had the passenger front and back windows shot out with a shotgun. There were three people inside the vehicle at the time, but no injuries reported.
Police found two men in the area and chased them almost a block before catching them. They arrested 28-year-old Jeremy Cushing for possession of a defaced firearm and tampering with evidence. They also arrested 18-year-old Dominic Castellanos for being a felon in possession of a firearm, failing to comply with police, and possession of narcotics.
Police are still investigating the shooting. At this time, they don’t know who fired the shots, and they do not believe the people in the vehicle were known to either Cushing or Castellanos.
