Can't make it out to the air show this weekend?  There's an alternative spot to see it.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Nine-Mile Prairie is offering a great view of the sky above the Lincoln airport for the Guardians of Freedom Airshow.  The prairie event is titled “Great Planes and Prairies.''  It will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Volunteers and staff will lead hikes on five miles of trails, offer wagon rides across the prairie and lead excursions to collect prairie seeds. The prairie events are free.

More information, including a flier and a map, is available at

Nine-Mile Prairie is a 230-acre parcel on the northwest edge of Lincoln, five miles west and four miles north of the University of Nebraska campus in downtown Lincoln.  The Guardians of Freedom Airshow is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
