Lincoln Man Cited For Stealing From The Blind

Police believe they have the man responsible for stealing from the blind. Officer Katie Flood says 23-year-old Travis Gingery recently stole three donation jars at convenience stores.
Some of those donations help send blind children to camp. Dorothy Marston with Christian Record Services helps collect the money and says a lot of children rely on those donations. She hopes people continue to give. “So it’s really sad when they get stolen. I don’t want to discourage people from giving because we receive more money than has been stolen, but I think people that steal have to answer for what they’ve done, probably help them more than hurt them if they get caught.” Marston said.
A Lincoln police officer was able to identify Gingery through these store surveillance pictures. Gingery’s been cited for 3 counts of misdemeanor shoplifting.
