Miss Nebraska Works Here!

Channel 8 Eyewitness News Reporter Brittany Jeffers was crowned Miss Nebraska 2009 Saturday night in North Platte.

Jeffers interned at Channel 8 while in college at the University Of Nebraska-Lincoln.  She joined the Channel 8 Eyewitness News team in June of 2008.

Jeffers is a native of Ogallala and will represent Nebraska at the Miss America Pageant in January.

She won the crown while competing as Miss Omaha.

She also won the top honor at Saturday's pageant for her interview and for her community service.
