Walmart Gang-Threat Text A Hoax

Several media outlets, as well as Lincoln Police, have been fielding calls about texts and e-mails reference Wal-mart. 

The threats vary indicating a gang initiation including shootings or other violent crimes at Wal-Mart.  The messages have been circulating throughout the United States.  Lincoln Police Tell Channel 8 Eyewitness news that the threat will occur in Lincoln.  Police believe this threat is an urban legend-a hoax. 

You will recognize some of the common signs of an urban legend: the unspecified location and date; the scary story of an attack by strangers; or that they heard it from local law enforcement or “on tv”.
