One Dead In Lincoln Train Accident

Authorities say a Lincoln man is dead after he drove his car around another car that was stopped at a railroad crossing for a freight train and hit the train.

The Lancaster County sheriff's office says 42-year-old Leslie Strauch was killed Thursday night when his car hit the BNSF train south of Lincoln. Deputies say his car went under the train to the other side of the tracks and hit two other vehicles.

Strauch's car caught on fire. Strauch died at the scene. An autopsy is pending. The sheriff's office says the driver of one of the other cars, 18-year-old Joey Delaney, of Crete, was taken to a hospital where he was treated for a shoulder injury and released.
