Man Arrested After Assaulting Police Officers

Police say two Lincoln police officers and a pregnant woman were assaulted Sunday.
Police were called to a four-block area near North 51st Street and Adams Street around 2:30 a.m. by a witness who saw a man chasing a screaming woman.
The woman was screaming for help when police arrived, and the man who was allegedly chasing her was nearby in a car.
Officers arrested Brandon Bauer and put him in the back of a cruiser, where he allegedly kicked out a window.
An officer opened the door and Bauer allegedly kicked him in the leg. When another officer opened the other door, Bauer allegedly pulled a hand out of his handcuffs and hit that officer in the back of the head.
Neither officer was seriously hurt. The 20-year-old pregnant woman suffered a large bruise and lump to her cheek, a cut on her chin and an injury to her right knee.
Bauer was arrested and jailed on suspicion of domestic assault of a pregnant woman, a felony, and two counts of assault on a police officer. Bauer also was cited on suspicion of possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
