Omalink Seeing Increased Ridership

More riders are choosing to put their car in park, and instead hop on a local shuttle service to get to and from Eppley Airport.

The rise in riders can be partly contributed to the four-dollar a gallon gas prices.

We all know how high gas prices are, but now some local residents are taking advantage of local services to save money on gas.

Omalink shuttle service picks up and drops off people in Lincoln Omaha, and at Eppley Airport.

The company says its noticed an increase in riders, they think partly due to high gas prices.

Ever since gas got over 3.00 dollars a gallon, people are looking for ulterior sources to driving themselves.

For most people, it will cost about twenty-dollars in gas money to drive to Eppley Airport and then back to Lincoln.

The shuttle service says if you're a frequent flyer, add the cost of parking at the airport, and then consider the convenience of drop-off service.

For some, the 80-bucks Omalink costs for a round-trip turns out to be a better deal than driving yourself.

But even Omalink admits to struggling with four-dollar-a-gallon gas.

They say their fuel bill when they started two years ago was $4000-dollars a month.

They paid the gas bill today and it was $11,300-dollars.

Omalink says they have local pick-up and drop-off service around Lincoln.

The company says it also does group rates which could be even less expensive.
