How To Claim Your Missing Money

There's lots of money to be had.

The state's unclaimed property division has received a 6-million dollar check, and now they're looking to give that money back, to its rightful owner. 

The money came from the sale of abandoned stocks, and now State Treasurer Shane Osborn says it's available for Nebraskans to claim immediately.

Osborn says including the 6-million dollars, the total unclaimed property in Nebraska has reached more than 85-million dollars.

12 events are scheduled across the state to help Nebraskans get their money back. There will booths set up for local residents to search for their names and file claims. The events begin Friday in Hastings and run through Mid-November in Kearney. Events in between include the Nebraska State Fair in Lincoln.
