Former State Trooper Sentenced To Prison

A former State Patrol Major has been sentenced for sexually assaulting a child.

Billy Hobbs was sentenced Tuesday morning to 25 to 30 years in prison.

The young victim claims she was assaulted about two years ago.

In February, authorities searched his house and found incriminating pictures.

They also seized a computer and digital cameras.

Before his arrest, Hobbs was part of a division in the State Patrol designed to monitor sex offenders.

He'll be eligible for patrol after twelve-and-a-half years.
