Lincoln fifth graders learn ‘trial and error’ in computer coding challenge
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Fifth graders at Meadow Lane Elementary School put their computer coding skills to the test Thursday.
Students worked in small groups to create, test and debug a computer program to guide a robot to knock down bowling pins.
“The fun thing is all the hard work we do on problem-solving and learning coding concepts,” said Susan Prabulos, a computer science teacher.
Students said it was a fun experience and also provided them with a daily mantra.
“Trial and error, like they say,” Easton Snyder said.
The demonstration was part of Career Technical Education Month.
Lincoln Public Schools said it wants to ensure that students gain real-world skills and explore technical careers.
