Cooler Start to the Week, More Chances for Storms

While Sunday marked the official start of summer, the forecast will miss the memo for the first half of the work week. A mix of clouds and sun on Monday, followed by periodic chances for storms on Tuesday. We look to stay out of the 80s until Wednesday.

Above is the latest run of StormCast, showing storm chances continuing in the western half of the state this evening. We may see a few sprinkles in northeast Nebraska ealry on Monday morning.

The risk for severe weather remains to our west on Monday, with isolated to scattered severe storms possible in the panhandle. A Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5) is in place for portions of western Nebraska.

Temperatures tonight will fall to the lower and middle 50s across the state under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

Overcast skies continue through the overnight hours in Lincoln, with overnight lows in the upper 50s.

Another cool summer day is ahead for Monday, with highs for most of us ranging from the lower to middle 70s. The panhandle will try for the 80s.

Periodic chances for showers and thunderstorms continue through the week ahead, with a more organized weather pattern by the end of the week. Temperatures return closer to normal for the last several days of June.
