Mild Temperatures Continue, Scattered Storm Chances

Another cooler late-June day to kick off the work week with highs reaching the middle 70s. Expect a mix of clouds and sun throughout the day with mild temperatures ushered in by an east-southeasterly breeze.

The radar looks to stay clear for eastern Nebraska for the start of the work week. However, scattered showers and storms are possible for western Nebraska, according to the latest runs of StormCast.

Scattered severe storms will be possible on Monday afternoon and evening for the panhandle and far southwestern Nebraska. A Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5) of severe weather is in place.

Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible on Tuesday afternoon for central Nebraska. A Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) is in place with quarter-sized hail and wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour will be possible in the strongest storms.

Highs today could pass for a warm spring day rather than late June. Afternoon temperatures will range from the lower 70s to the lower 80s across the state.

We typically see the upper 80s for highs in Lincoln, though Monday afternoon will see temperatures top out in the middle 70s.

We should see quiet weather for any evening plans in southeast Nebraska. Temperatures overnight will fall to the 50s.

Passing clouds are expected through the overnight hours and into the start of Tuesday. Lows will fall to the upper 50s for the Capital City with a light breeze.

Highs are expected to remain mild for the week ahead with periodic chances for showers and thunderstorms. Tuesday and Thursday afternoons look to be our best chances for precipitation as of Monday morning. The forecast looks a little more like summer by the time next weekend rolls around.
