LPD: 2 arrested after drugs, loaded gun found during traffic stop

LINCOLN, Neb (KLKN) — Drugs, a gun and an open bottle of Miller High Life — all items allegedly found during a traffic stop by Lincoln police officers.

LPD says an officer stopped a vehicle that failed to signal a turn and did not have valid license plates near 14th and C St. around 8 p.m. Monday.

The officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car and saw an open bottle of beer inside, police say.

A search of the vehicle turned up 488.4 grams of marijuana, THC wax, and a loaded revolver, police say.

The driver, identified as 20-year-old Ketara Ferguson, and a passenger, identified as 19-year-old Leul Howell, were both arrested on numerous charges.

The estimated street value of the marijuana is $9,000, according to LPD.
