A big pattern change arrives on Sunday
Saturday was another cold day. Although some flurries were able to pass through the area, the day was dominated by sunshine overall.
Skies will clear out completely by Saturday night, which will help push temperatures into the teens for overnight lows. While wind speeds will become nearly calm on Saturday evening, they will increase to the 7-12 mph range by sunrise.
We will undergo a significant pattern change on Sunday. High temperatures should be in the low to mid-50s across the area. That will feel nice compared to the arctic air we’ve experienced for over a week now. It may be breezy at times on Sunday, with a W/SW wind at around 10-20 mph during the day.
Although the air will be relatively warm in the days to come, high temperatures will be close to or slightly above average for this time of year. We have plenty of 50°+ highs in the forecast for next week.
Much of next week looks dry. However, we are watching an upper-level disturbance that is set to arrive close to Thanksgiving. Some computer model guidance has hinted at the chance for a wintry mix on Thanksgiving over the past week or so.
There hasn’t been a whole lot of consistency in the data lately, so there are still a lot of question marks concerning the Thanksgiving forecast. This is something we’ll be watching in the coming days. We’ll let you know once things come into better agreement.
