A bit cooler today, but still mild 3/14/2022

Temperatures are mild this morning in the 30s and 40s across southeast Nebraska with wind chill values around 20-30 degrees. Grab your coat before you head outside, and maybe even a light jacket for later today. Increasing clouds this morning will stick around into the afternoon and evening, leaving us with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. We could see a bit of sunshine peeking through the clouds during the evening, but it won’t help warm temperatures much. Highs will warm into the mid-50s this afternoon with increasing wind speeds. Wind gusts will be the strongest to our west, with increasing wind speeds further east into the evening. Wind speeds relax and clouds clear out overnight, allowing temperatures to drop into the mid-20s. Tuesday’s cold start will be short lived, because temperatures quickly warm back into the mid-60s tomorrow. We flirt with the 70s on Wednesday before temperatures return to the low 50s on St. Patrick’s Day. Spotty showers are possible on the holiday, but the timeline and track of the showers still needs some tweaking. The weekend looks warm and just like spring with highs in the low 70s for the first official day of astronomical spring!
