‘A gift from God in the middle of winter’: Lincolnites enjoy unseasonably warm day
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — People ventured outside in Lincoln on Monday to enjoy an unseasonably warm day at the end of February.
“It’s amazing; I absolutely love it,” said Tracey Bouska, who was visiting from Iowa.
A group of friends took advantage of the weather and gathered at Holmes Lake.
“Today is just wonderful,” Sue Lind said. “We’re pretty frequent walkers around Holmes Lake, and we’ve just commented, ‘It’s perfect.'”
For many, it’s not a surprise to have these temperatures in February, even though it’s typically one of the coldest months of the year.
Lincoln resident Nancy Stetler said it’s part of the “roller coaster” of Nebraska weather.
“It’s sunshine and warmth and a gift from God in the middle of winter,” she said.
A tourist from Canada also enjoyed the weather in Lincoln.
“It’s snowing there, so here is like a vacation for me in February,” Jennifer Donnini said. “It’s absolutely beautiful.”
