A hot end to September ahead
Friday, Lincoln saw a record breaking high temperature of 96 degrees! The previous high was set back in 2002 at 94 degrees. Temperatures will be feeling very summer-like through the weekend. Most areas are expected to stay dry with small chances for showers south of the I-80, closer to Kearny and Hastings.
Hot! Another abnormally high day forecast for Saturday. Lincoln’s September 30th current record high is 94 set back in 1952, we will come very close to tying and/or breaking that high temperature.
There is a little tiny chance for showers near SW Beatrice, Kearney nd Hastings. It is minimal, various models have not been confident on seeing any precipitation. Regardless, Lincoln is expected to stay dry through the weekend. Plenty of sunshine SE with a few clouds west.
The southerly breeze continues into the weekend. Winds gusts ranging from 20-30 mph are possible Saturday afternoon through the evening.
Looks like T-shirt and shorts weather, if you are out and about or heading to the Husker game. Stay hydrated and cool when outdoors for long periods of time and Go Big Red!
