A hot week ahead- Rain chances early October

- By Sunday (October 5), we are still tracking some potential rain and storm chances going through the second week of October. This will bring some cooler air across the state.
Sunday morning started off chilly across Nebraska! Some areas dipped close to the 30s, while Lincoln held in the mid to upper 40s. A refreshing start — perfect for opening the windows before a warm Sunday afternoon.

Looking ahead to Sunday evening (Oct 5): A low pressure system may develop over Montana and Wyoming, bringing snow to that region. The southern edge of this system could bring rain and storms our way. Something to watch if you’re hoping for cooler temps and some moisture after a dry and warm week.
Tonight will be a bit warmer than last night! Temperatures only dipping into the upper 50s and low 60s under clear skies. A pleasant night to say the least.
Monday afternoon, temperatures will be 5-10 degrees above average. Temperatures will warm up into the mid to upper 80s under mostly sunny skies and a S breeze 5-15 mph.
A warm and dry week ahead. The second week of October, temperatures will look to fall back into the 70s with rain and storm chances increasing starting Sunday and Monday. If you enjoy the warmth like me, this week looks wonderful! If you want Fall temperatures, looks like early October will begin your time to enjoy.
